Why does sending an SMS to a Swiss Salt number cost more credits than to Swisscom or Sunrise? [Q1053]
In Switzerland, the actual network operator of the recipient number is checked before an SMS is sent. SMS to numbers registered with Salt or an associated mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) are charged at 1.75 credits, while SMS to Swisscom or Sunrise numbers are charged at 1 credit. This reflects the different termination fees charged by each operator. The current Swiss rate details are published on the Switzerland networks page.
